Yes! The quiz is totally free to use. (But if you feel compelled to give us money, we'll take it.)

Will you hold my results hostage until I put in an email address?

No! An email address is NOT required to receive results. We don't play that.

Does the quiz only recommend new bikes?

No, the quiz recommends new and used bikes for all budgets.

Is this just for people who are new to dirt biking?

Nope! The results take into account your skill level and can recommend bikes for beginners to pros.

What's the minimum rider age?

The quiz provides bike recommendations for riders 3+.

Is this just for motocross bikes?

Nope. The Dirt Bike Wizard provides recommendations tailored to the following disciplines: casual trail riding, cross country, enduro/tight singletrack, technical/hard enduro, motocross, endurocross, desert, and dual sport.

Is this website/quiz associated with a certain bike manufacturer?

Nope, this site waas developed by a private party (i.e. a dirt biker with an idea) and has no affiliation with any OEM. The quiz is intended to be as objective as possible, with no bias toward any specific manufacturer.

Which models and brands does the quiz include?

The current database includes models from 1993 on up from the following manufacturers: Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, KTM, Husqvarna, GasGas, Sherco, Beta, TM, Reiju, Rokon, Christini, Stacyc, and Oset.

Certain discontinued and hard to find models have been omitted; presumably, if we can't even find any information about the bike, you also won't be able to find a real life one to buy. Interested in seeing a brand or model that's not currently included? Please let us know.

Is this artificial intelligence?

The Dirt Bike Wizard is an explicitly-programmed, rule-based model developed by human dirt bikers, for human dirt bikers. It uses a blend of pseudo-math and custom algorithms, but--contrary to what the name implies--there's no magic.

Have you ridden all of the bikes you're recommending?

We wish, but we're mere mortals too. The data associated with each bike model represents a combination of manufacturer specifications (when available) and research into bike tests, reviews, and opinions from professionals and consumers alike. In other words, we did our research--but everything on this site is merely an opinion. We recommend users do their own research of the models recommended to them prior to purchase.

Will riding dirt bikes make me cooler?
